Sony BDP-S300 will sell for $499
Sony drops the price of the new Blu-Ray player by 100$. The official price announced at Febrary was $599, but now the real price is lowered to $499.
BDP-S300 is half the price of the Sony’s first Blu-ray player (BDP-S1, $999, today about $799).
This is indeed the result of the increased competition in the “war of formats”: recently Toshiba cut the prices of some HD-DVD player models down to $299.
